A few days ago Henryk M. Broder wrote in Welt am Sonntag, "Europe -- your family name is appeasement." It's a phrase you can't get out of your head because it's so terribly true.

Appeasement cost millions of Jews and non-Jews their lives as England and France, allies at the time, negotiated and hesitated too long before they noticed that Hitler had to be fought, not bound to agreements. Appeasement stabilized communism in the Soviet Union and East Germany in that part of Europe where inhuman, suppressive governments were glorified as the ideologically correct alternative to all other possibilities. Appeasement crippled Europe when genocide ran rampant in Kosovo and we Europeans debated and debated until the Americans came in and did our work for us.

Rather than protecting democracy in the Middle East, European appeasement, camouflaged behind the fuzzy word "equidistance," now countenances suicide bombings in Israel by fundamentalist Palestinians. Appeasement generates a mentality that allows Europe to ignore 300,000 victims of Saddam's torture and murder machinery and, motivated by the self-righteousness of the peace-movement, to issue bad grades to George Bush. A particularly grotesque form of appeasement is reacting to the escalating violence by Islamic fundamentalists in Holland and elsewhere by suggesting that we should really have a Muslim holiday in Germany.

What else has to happen before the European public and its political leadership get it? There is a sort of crusade underway, an especially perfidious crusade consisting of systematic attacks by fanatic Muslims, focused on civilians and directed against our free, open Western societies. It is a conflict that will most likely last longer than the great military conflicts of the last century -- a conflict conducted by an enemy that cannot be tamed by tolerance and accommodation but only spurred on by such gestures, which will be mistaken for signs of weakness.

Two recent American presidents had the courage needed for anti-appeasement: Reagan and Bush. Reagan ended the Cold War and Bush, supported only by the social democrat Blair acting on moral conviction, recognized the danger in the Islamic fight against democracy. His place in history will have to be evaluated after a number of years have passed.

In the meantime, Europe sits back with charismatic self-confidence in the multicultural corner instead of defending liberal society's values and being an attractive center of power on the same playing field as the true great powers, America and China. On the contrary-we Europeans present ourselves, in contrast to the intolerant, as world champions in tolerance, which even (Germany's Interior Minister) Otto Schily justifiably criticizes. Why? Because we're so moral? I fear it's more because we're so materialistic.

For his policies, Bush risks the fall of the dollar, huge amounts of additional national debt and a massive and persistent burden on the American economy-because everything is at stake.

While the alleged capitalistic robber barons in American know their priorities, we timidly defend our social welfare systems. Stay out of it! It could get expensive. We'd rather discuss the 35-hour workweek or our dental health plan coverage. Or listen to TV pastors preach about "reaching out to murderers." These days, Europe reminds me of an elderly aunt who hides her last pieces of jewelry with shaking hands when she notices a robber has broken into a neighbor's house. Europe, thy name is cowardice.

My previous posts may lead some to believe that I am a pessimist. I am not. I don't rescue little kittens because I believe the Mayans (who, in their Almighty Wisdom, disappeared suddenly from the face of the Earth) or even 'Nostrodumbass' that the world will end in 2012 (December 23rd, to be exact) - they miscalculated the Winter Solstice; December 21, 2012! I don't believe that Christianity will ever be defeated by Islam, or the lowly little piss-ant who calls himself "the devil" will eventually whoop God's almighty Whatever. Nope, not gonna happen. America will survive, and thrive, too. I offer as evidence what Charles Spurgeon said (probably before Merle Haggard was born), "I have read The Book from beginning to end and, in the end, WE WIN!"

Well, that is not all of the evidence I have.

We all know that the United States of America is, as of the date of this writing, the most powerful and still the richest country in the world. That contributes to the fact that the "average" citizen of the US is more powerful than any foreign counterpart. It has nothing to do with your politics or how you vote, or what political party you may affiliate yourself with. It has to do with you, your friends, and your neighbors. It is more about the fundamental makeup of our nation and it's people.

The mighty US is blessed with an abundance of natural resources. As one geologist put it, "If the people of the world disappeared, archeologists* 1,000 years from now would discover the greatest deposits of gold, silver, copper and other valuable resources, buried underground in the location of the United States, just from what our industries and infrastructure would leave behind." This is on top of the new access to oil under our feet that technology will provide, the ever more frequent discoveries of vast fields of natural gas trapped in shale in Texas, Pennsylvania, and most recently in Louisiana, the natural gas and oil deposits in the Gulf of Mexico and just off the continental shelves of the east and west coast.

The US is also a Word Leading producer of Copper, Gold and Silver, and boasts the largest deposits of  Helium in the world. We have Rare Earth Metal deposits, too (handy for electric cars, etc.). Only China has more resources than we, but they are much more 'spread out,' and not likely accessible to the rest of the world (buy stock in BHP, if you are worried. You won't lose money, guaranteed).

We have an overabundance of food in this country, as well; we help feed much of the world. Many of our food resources are on land but there is much more in 'our' seas. Our access to the world's seas and its riches is unrivaled. The State of Alaska alone is bounded by four seas, the Beaufort, the Bering, the Chuckchi and the Gulf of Alaska , which is part of the the Pacific. We have the Great Lakes (part of them), the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. Most Americans don't know that water from the Great Lakes is being transported and sold to China...by Canada. Water will soon become our most important resource, and the next Cause of War, but that's another blog.

So, we continue to be the richest nation on the planet while also remaining, inarguably, the most generous nation ever to exist.

I believe that the greatest resource of our great country is the American Heart. Our hearts, generally speaking, beat for justice, for freedom, for kindness -  and for our love of God. There is an oft-quoted saying that is usually, and incorrectly, attributed to Tocqueville, but is actually from an anonymous source; "America is great, because America is good." Some say that America is not a Christian nation, and I won't debate that on either side. However, there are a few facts that we can take into account.

I do know that it is not legal or acceptable in the US to Openly traffic human beings and sell them as prostitutes or other kinds of slaves, as you will find in many countries around the world. As far as we know, Amercans are not engaged in State-Sponsored Piracy of oil tankers, cargo ships and the like; our harbors are considered secure and safe. It is also not common practice in the US to throw our babies into a river and drown them, in order to receive absolution from our sins, as in India. We do not practice mutilation of young girl's genitals, as is more widespread in Africa than any want to admit.We don't condone starving the masses in favor of preserving 'sacred bovine,' as in Buddhist areas of the world. We don't require the worship of our "Dear Leader," as in North Korea. We don't consider our dogs of more value than our women, as in many Islamic nations. We don't tolerate varioius religeous sects torturing and killing even the women and young children of other sects in violent and inhumane fashion, as in Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Sudan. We don't poison our enemies with chemical and biological weapons because they are of a different race than we, as Iraq did. We don't tell our people how many children they can have (and now, how to wear their hair) as in China.  We do not have our military, our local police, our judicial system and our legislature being dictated to by a drug cartel, as we see in Mexico. We don't limit education, freedom of choice or source of employment based on any 'Caste' system, as also happens in India.

Thankfully, we are still basically rooted in law that is based upon our God given rights We are not governed by the whim of Mullah's who declare, totally by Fiat,  that marriage of an adult male to a six year old girl is a form of religeous devotion and the worship of deity. Neither do we have a 'Supreme Dictator' that could or would decide whether this country will or will not begin a nuclear holocaust - again, just on a whim. Our government is not pure enough to have our complete trust, but could barely be described as corrupt when compared to most other nations.

Take a close look at America's history against its enemies, both foreign and domestic. Over and over you will see the same thing: The more they seek power, the less cohesive they become. The 'Conspiracy in Copenhagen' has now been uttely  proven to be a grab for wealth by our  adversaries. It has fallen apart not just because the science behind Anthropogenic Global Warming is wrong, at best, or a Flat Out Lie at its worst, but because the bottom line issue has been exposed on the World Stage - MONEY**. Hundreds of Billions of dollars hang in the balance, and "therein lies the rub."

No, Anthropogenic Global Warming is not such a threatening, dynamic and imminent force that the very apostles of this heresy would do anything it takes to avoid; it has to come with lots of money, prefferably American Dollars. The Global Warming Religion has always been about government grants, corporate contributions and other forms of money grubbing. By comparison, the greed of The 'AGW Cabal' makes Elmer Gantry look like the Apostle Paul.

The Copenhagen Conspiracy died, today, 12/18/2009. Yet, Messiah Obama claimed an unverifiable, non-binding "genteleman's agreement" between the US, China and some other Token Countries was "Unprecedented." However, he calls everything "Unprecedented." It is his favorite word***. Nothing he has called unprecedented yet has actually ever been unprecedented.

The other great Power Grab,  that for Federal control of Health Care in Washington, D.C., is suffering the same fate. The special interests are so afraid they will not get what they believe is their share, that they themselves are torpedoing their own efforts. Democrats have lined up by Factions in phalanxes behind their own party lines. Messiah Obama is coming under attack from his own "saints;" Reid, Pelosi, MoveOn.Org and Dean. Having abandoned, days ago, the idea of improving the accessibility and affordability of Health Care in the US, they now are all focused on their own specific agenda issues ranging from endorsing and funding Abortion, free care for illegal aliens and even the once "King of Sacred Cows," the Public Option. They were once so commited to the PO that they twisted and distorted every kind of fact, including how many Americans did not have insurance, how greedy doctors are and, most significantly, what such a Chimera would actually cost the US taxpayers! Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics!

Democrats threatened to keep Congress in session through Christmas Eve, to get its way. Now the biggest snowstorm in years has made that a Moot Point! Ain't Nobody Goin' Nowhere, and the ReTardoPubs can stall for days in debate....Sadlhy, Stalemate is the grandest form of guarantee for US Liberty!

What once seemed like an Ultra-Liberal 'Sherman Tank 'bearing down on the American People has high-centered on the hump of Extremism and has been exposed for what it is...a stripped down Clunker that has no engine; the only propulsion it ever had was Greed and Power. Greed and Power are apparently more volatile than gasoline than I had ever imagined, for the entire vehicle has very quickly gone up in flames (we hope forever, but not likely).

BRACE YOURSELVES: Something may happen, and MBHO will call it "UNPRECENDENTED." (His way, of course, of saying, "I utterly failed AGAIN." No Olympics in Chicago, either. Hey Pres, that makes you 0-2 in Copenhagen (Koe-Pin-Hay-Gin, not HAAGEN DAAS). Look for an 'unprecedented' Health Care Proposal in theaters near you.

Coincicentally, the AGW Copenhagen Conspiracy ended in failure tonight on the eve of a record Cold Blitz in the NorthEast US. The only US representative present in Copenhagean (NOT pronouced Koe-pin-HAW-Gin, as Obama called it in his speech today) likely to get home this weekend is MBHO - thanks entirely to the skill and devotion of the US Military he so appears to despise.
No, I won't argue whether America is a Christian nation or not. But it is obvious that we are not a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Animist or Atheist nation, either. And we surely have been the recipient of Divine Favor many, many times in our history -  and this is definitely one of them. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for these wonderful presents at this special time of year! The SnowStorm was a Masterful added touch!

Hyper, Hypo, Circum or Dia?

GOLD IS CORRECTING

There is a lot of speculation (no pun intended) about what gold prices are going to do. Gold has been trending down since last Friday, with the trigger being the lower number of new unemployment claims. Some say this is a signal of the US Economic Recovery, and believe the desire for gold as a "safe haven" has  been squelched. I don't believe it, as I see no real signs of a "Recovery," unless the downward fall of the US Dollar is somehow a good thing.

I'm not selling my gold. Unlike the $US, there will always be some demand for gold.

I'm not buying more gold, either. However, silver is very attractive at this point. When the price of gold began correcting, it took silver prices partially along for the ride, too. And while Platinum is bucking the trend and moving up, it still has a way to go before it is at its historical premium over gold. I just don't trust Platinum. Manufacturing, especially that of automobiles, has to get pretty hot and heavy to increase real demand for platinum.

Interestingly, Silver is historically around 35 times less expensive as gold. Right now one ounce of gold could buy 65 ounces of silver!! There is a lot of room for profit in the "poor man's gold." I have to go for it!

Oh, and if gold were to "dive" back to the $900 level as some "experts" say is possible...gold would still be more than 52 times the price of silver, even if silver prices did not follow the gold price down!

As they say, "History does not seem like history when you are living throught it."

Carol Browner – “Climate Czar”

Carol Browner's official title is “Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change.” She formerly served as Environmental Protection Agency administrator during the Clinton administration and was Florida secretary of the environment.

See any smoke-belching factories in Florida??? Damn, she’s good!

Browner was a member of the Commission for a Sustainable World Society at Socialist International, a group that Discover the Networks reports is the "umbrella for 170 'social democratic, socialist and labor parties' in 55 countries."

Well, as long as it’s just a hobby…

The Washington Times explained Browner's group called for "global governance" and asserts rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

Step 1 is now complete, on our end…

Cass Sunstein – “Regulatory Czar”

According to Cass Sunstein, administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, global climate change is primarily the fault of U.S. environmental behavior and can, therefore, be used as a mechanism to redistribute the country's wealth.

“Mechanism,” in this case, means “A device for mincing US wealth into pieces beyond recognition and molding it into a new foreign currency; See also, “Carbon Credits.”

In a recent paper penned by the Obama czar, he advocated that U.S. wealth should be redistributed to poorer nations. (Doesn’t the U.S. government already do this to a substantial degree?) He also wrote, “It is even possible that desirable redistribution is more likely to occur through climate-change policy than otherwise, or to be accomplished more effectively through climate policy than through direct foreign aid.”

Hmmm…Sounds like we should look more critically at direct foreign aid.

Furthermore, in his 2004 book The Second Bill of Rights, Sunstein used the precedent of the Great Depression to point out that historic economic crises "provided the most promising conditions for the emergence of socialism in the U.S."

Only someone who is blind to the realities of history would use the words “promising” and “socialism” in the same sentence.

But who am I to argue with an individual capable of coming up with a whole Bill of Rights all by himself?

John Holdren – “Science Czar”

A longtime climate-change alarmist who has advocated ideas such as enforcing limits on world population growth, Holdren's official titles are: Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Assistant to the President for Science and Technology; and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Zikes! I hope he still only gets one paycheck!

Apparently, Holdren's name was in the e-mails hacked from the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University in the U.K., which show that some climate researchers declined to share their data with fellow scientists, conspired to rig data, and sought to keep researchers with dissenting views from publishing in leading scientific journals.

After all, nothing impedes progress more than REAL science.

FrontPageMag.com noted Holdren has endorsed a “surrender of sovereignty” to “a comprehensive Planetary Regime” that would control all the world’s resources, direct global redistribution of wealth, oversee the “de-development” of the West, control a World Army and taxation regime, and enforce world population limits.

Enforce…population limits? Sounds like they want to cut off more than my pollution!

Whether you like them or hate them, it’s important to know what they stand for.

Right. They stand for Saving the World.  No, running the world.  Control of the world?   But if the world is going to hell in a hand basket, why do they want to run or control it?


For the good of the world!  No, that would be democracy and capitalism, so that can’t be it.


Enviro-Socio-plutocratism? How would a “world army” know what or who they were fighting for, against whom or why?

The Turkey's Lament

When I was a young turkey, new to the coop,
My big brother Mike took me out on the stoop,

Then he sat me down, and he spoke real slow,
And he told me there was something that I had to know;

His look and his tone I will always remember,
When he told me of the horrors of ..... Black November;

"Come about August, now listen to me,
Each day you'll be thick, where once you were thin,
And you'll grow a big rubbery thing under your chin..

"And then one morning, when you're warm in your bed,
In'll burst the farmer's wife, and hack off your head;

"Then she'll pluck out all your feathers so you're bald'n pink,
And scoop out all your insides and leave ya lyin' in the sink,

"And then comes the worst part" he said not bluffing,
"She'll spread your cheeks and pack your rear with stuffing".

Well, the rest of his words were too grim to repeat,
I sat on the stoop like a winged piece of meat,

And decided on the spot that to avoid being cooked,
I'd have to lay low and remain overlooked;

I began a new diet of nuts and granola,
High-roughage salads, juice and diet cola,

And as they ate pastries, chocolates and crepes,
I stayed in my room doing Jane Fonda tapes,

I maintained my weight of two pounds and a half,
And tried not to notice when the bigger birds laughed;

But 'twas I who was laughing, under my breath,
As they chomped and they chewed, ever closer to death;
